LOCKHEED MARTIN AND THE RFID IN HEALTHCARE CONSORTIUM TO UNVEIL VIRTUAL HEALTHCARE THEATER AT HIMSS CONFERENCE

Bethesda, Md., Feb. 27, 2013 – Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and the RFID in Healthcare
Consortium (RHCC) will unveil an octagonal-shaped, virtual healthcare theater in The Intelligent
Hospital™ Pavilion at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS)
conference in New Orleans’ Ernest N. Morial Convention Center March 4-6.

“The Intelligent Hospital™ Pavilion concept is creating new ways for healthcare executives to
witness technology integrating with patient care delivery,” says Dr. Paul Frisch, president and
CTO, RHCC. “By bringing the right tools and talents together, we’re seeing innovations that will
revolutionize the healthcare environment.”

The Intelligent Hospital™ (IH) Pavilion provides a practical overview of how diverse
technologies, including medical devices and systems, clinical applications, Auto ID, RFID,
RTLS, sensors and wireless technologies, along with tablets and smart mobile devices, are
seamlessly integrated to enhance patient care, optimize workflow and manage healthcare
resources. The pavilion will showcase numerous unique use cases and solutions simulating
typical scenarios within the OR, ICU, ER, ambulance and pharmacy.

and analytics into the clinical environment,” said Dr. Robert J. Szczerba, Lockheed Martin’s

A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at the IH Pavilion on Monday, March 4 at 1 p.m.
Attendees will also have an opportunity to hear from Dr. Szczerba on Wednesday, March 6, at
9:45 a.m. in Room 245 of the convention center. He will address how advanced technologies
from the aerospace and defense sectors can be applied to the clinical environments in his
presentation “How Aerospace Technology Can Help Transform Healthcare”.
