Wacom Showcases Industry-Leading Interactive Pen Displays and Signature Tablets at Upcoming AHIMA Conference

In booth #2004, Wacom will show how healthcare organizations are reducing costs, increasing productivity and delivering high-quality customer service with modern technology

At the upcoming AHIMA conference – October 2-6, 2011 in Salt Lake City, UT – Wacom will show its industry-leading Interactive Pen Displays and Signature Tablets, and explain how these products have helped healthcare professionals and institutions modernize their workflow and patient interactions.

Wacom’s family of products continues to shape the electronic medical recordkeeping landscape by offering healthcare organizations such as Washington Imaging, Valley Regional Imaging, Lennox Hill Hospital and Sharp HealthCare an intuitive, fast and cost-effective way to streamline and simplify EMR.

Wacom will demonstrate how these institutions use their pen display products to complete and sign electronic forms or capture signatures using one of the signature tablets.  Additionally, Wacom will show how its pen displays are used for medical imaging applications including image-guided radiation therapy.

The following products will be showcased in Booth #2004:

  • DTU-2231: Boasting a 21.5” HD (1920×1080) display, the DTU-2231 is ideal for exhibiting extremely detailed text and images that allow radiologists, physicians, researchers and other medical professionals to annotate over digital medical images, contour directly on CT slices, select specific regions of interest and take measurements of complex objects, while saving time and increasing accuracy.
  • DTU-1631: The DTU-1631 provides professionals with a natural pen-on-screen workflow perfect for patient registration, charting and EMR. Delivering a compact form factor with a 15.6” LCD display, the DTU-1631 pen input is helpful and intuitive for populating patient data, writing notes, drawing diagrams and capturing signatures for admission and consent.
  • DTF-720:   The DTF-720 provides a pen on screen display for customers who prefer a natural format that more closely matches the size of a paper form.  The 17” diagonal screen size provides a large area for document display, yet the small footprint allows it to fit comfortably on a desktop.
  • STU-500 and STU-520: Wacom’s Signature Tablets improve overall workflow, lower costs and eliminate inefficiencies associated with paper documentation by capturing signatures electronically, and offering a comfortable signing surface that emulates the feeling of signing on paper.  Wacom’s signature tablets utilize the same patented technology as Wacom larger pen displays.  Wacom’s state-of-the-art technology provides a natural signing experience that captures pen pressure in a durable and reliable, battery-free device.
