Milwaukee, WI – August 23, 2011 — VitalHealth Software, a leading provider of web-based software solutions for health management, today announced that its VitalHealth EHR version 1.8, the latest version of its electronic health record (EHR) solution for small practices, is 2011/2012 compliant and was certified as a Complete EHR on August 8, 2011 by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®), an ONC-ATCB, in accordance with the applicable eligible provider certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (H&HS). The 2011/2012 criteria support the Stage 1 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
VitalHealth EHR for Practices was specifically built for small physician practices with fewer than 10 practitioners. This next-generation EHR was designed to be extremely easy to use in the highly-varied work styles of small practices with significant levels of customization and flexibility. Based on extensive research and designed with intellectual property licensed from Mayo Clinic, the VitalHealth EHR is one of the first EHRs designed specifically for use with an Apple iPad® as well as other tablet formats, laptops and desktops.

The ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that Complete EHRs meet all of the 2011/2012 criteria and EHR Modules meet one or more – but not all – of the criteria approved by the Secretary for Health and Human Services (HHS) for either eligible provider or hospital technology.
