Rockford Health System Implements C3 Partners’ Meaningful Use Monitor to Guide its Journey to HITECH Meaningful Use Compliance

“MUM’s functionality, the vision and insights of C3 Partners, combined with the on-site talented analyses of MHK&A’s experienced staff enabled us to quickly and effectively understand what we have to do to be eligible for HITECH’s stimulus funds for both the Hospital and our physicians.  We look forward to completing our MUM training, which will enable us to use it on our own.  Not only is the MUM Dashboard an excellent visualization tool for our executives, but after training is completed, MUM functionality will enable our physicians and clinical support staff to ‘drill down’ by requirement by physician so they can manage their own mitigation plan.”  –Dennis L’’Heureux, RHS CIO

ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS — Rockford Health System (RHS) has implemented C3 Partners’ Meaningful Use Monitor©, “MUM” subscription service to guide its journey to HITECH Meaningful Use compliance for the entire compliance life cycle.  With the professional services of a team led by Michael H. Kreitzer & Associates, Ltd. (MHK&A), RHS has completed its gap assessment and mitigation plan for both the Hospital and its employed Eligible Professionals.

Dennis L’’Heureux, RHS CIO selected C3 Partners and MHK&A in December 2010 over two other offerings.  The work began in January and was completed in early March 2011.  Dennis said that “MUM’s functionality, the vision and insights of C3 Partners, combined with the on-site talented analyses of MHK&A’s experienced staff enabled us to quickly and effectively understand what we have to do to be eligible for HITECH’s stimulus funds for both the Hospital and our physicians.  We look forward to completing our MUM training, which will enable us to use it on our own.  Not only is the MUM Dashboard an excellent visualization tool for our executives, but after training is completed, MUM functionality will enable our physicians and clinical support staff to ‘drill down’ by requirement by physician so they can manage their own mitigation plan.  I am very pleased and highly recommend MUM and MHK&A’s services.”

Jay Fisher, Partner with C3 Partners, and Michael Kreitzer said they “are proud to welcome RHS to our 23 hospital and 900 physician customer list.  C3 Partners will continue to support RHS along with its other customers through the full HITECH life cycle via special and regularly scheduled educational webinars.”

Jay described MUM as “a robust and comprehensive tool that enables eligible hospitals and professionals to complete a Compliance Roadmap.  “Backed by the MUM Hotline and our certified Business Partners such as MHK&A, a hospital or group of Eligible Providers receives the ongoing expertise and support needed to identify their compliance gaps and take corrective action.”

MHK&A’s professional services consisted of leading RHS’s IT and clinical staff through a pragmatic assessment of clinical workflows to determine which have to be modified to facilitate capturing core and menu items and the quality measures, as well as analyzing the data capture and storage capabilities of RHS’s current and future information systems.  Michael said, “MUM guides our process and is the foundation for documenting our findings, conclusions, and recommendations.  MUM’s dashboard is our consultant’s report; eliminating the static document that is outdated as soon as it is issued.  We encourage our clients to become fully trained on MUM so they can use it as their own tool through the remainder of the HITECH life cycle.”
