Bottomline’s Inprotica™ to Provide Innovative Workflow Automation Solution to Leading Hospital

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. – Feb. 18, 2011 – Bottomline Technologies (NASDAQ: EPAY) today announced that FirstHealth of the Carolinas, located in Pinehurst, N.C., has selected Bottomline’s interactive automation solution to streamline patient data collection and automate information flow between disparate systems.

“We identified a need to improve some of our internal processes to better support the state-of-the-art health care that we deliver at our three hospitals,” said David Dillehunt, chief information officer at FirstHealth. “As a longtime customer, we trust Bottomline’s ability to deliver easy to use, intuitive solutions that simplify processes for patients, clinicians and staff. Bottomline’s Inprotica™ workflow solution will play a critical role in our ability ‘to care for people,’ which is our core purpose, and to deliver the best patient experience possible.”

Inprotica accelerates the flow of data for clinical, financial and operational processes, helping health care organizations to increase efficiencies, tighten security and meet compliance regulations. By providing for integration to existing Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Health Information Management (HIM) systems, the Inprotica platform enables finance, information technology and HIM professionals to bridge the gap between their existing systems investments and increase overall return on investment. Additionally, Inprotica’s Process Templates provide sample solutions to jump-start the automation of processes, including registration and consent.

“We’re thrilled to expand our partnership with FirstHealth and support their success at the forefront of regional health care,” said Pete Heydt, director of healthcare sales at Bottomline Technologies. “Inprotica provides FirstHealth with a solution that makes their clinical and business processes as cutting edge as their health care delivery. Our solution complements their core systems and will automate their paper-based processes, removing inefficiencies and enhancing quality of patient care.”
