PANASONIC SHOWCASES NEW HEALTHCARE TECHNOLOGY AT HIMSS 2013

Company to highlight 103” Interactive Plasma Display and Ultra-HD 4K Tablet Computer

Secaucus, NJ, March 04, 2013 – Panasonic, a leading provider of healthcare technology solutions, will highlight a number of new offerings at its HIMSS 2013 booth (#37510), including an 103” interactive plasma displays, a 20-inch 4K resolution tablet, Toughpad ruggedized tablets, digital signage solutions and video surveillance equipment. Panasonic technologies for healthcare are designed to improve efficiency, collaboration, profitability and security, ultimately improving the patient experience.

HIMSS will mark the North American debut of the 103” TH-103PB1 interactive plasma display, a device designed to increase interactive engagement, enhance collaboration by combining whiteboard-style collaborative functions with a high definition display. The TH-103PB1 brings a number of innovative features to the table including simultaneous multiple-input drawing capabilities (up to four wireless pens), allowing users to engage in written annotation, drawing and independently move items around the screen. The TH-103PB1 is ideal for healthcare facility boardroom applications and video conferencing.

The 20-inch Ultra-HD 4K tablet (3840 x 2560, 9.83 million pixels), recently introduced at CES in January, packs a 1.8-GHz Intel Core i5 3427U processor, Nvidia Geforce graphics, 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD. With a unique aspect ratio of 15:10, it can display an A3-size paper in almost full size, making it ideal to show large content such as medical images. Moreover, the pen input, with a resolution as high as the panel itself, enables natural handwriting and annotation on the tablet.

The Toughpad family of rugged tablet computers includes the new Toughpad JT-B1, a 7” Android™-powered unit, the  Toughpad JT-B1, a 10” tablet featuring Windows® 8 Pro as well as the original 10” Android-powered Toughpad FZ-A1. These tablets are ideal for mobile healthcare workers that need a device that can withstand the bumps and drops often associated with the profession.

Additionally, Panasonic will be showing a number of digital signage solutions for healthcare including LED video walls and large format LCD displays. These displays, when paired with a digital signage software solution, can enable a healthcare facility to communicate in a more efficient and professional way with patients, visitors and vendors. For example, digital signage in an ER waiting room can provide up-to-the-minute wait times and registration information.

They are designed to integrate seamlessly with existing video security systems, are vandal-proof and incorporate new facial recognition technology.
