Kleinert Kutz Hand Surgery Center Selects ChartLogic Electronic Health Record Suite

Salt Lake City, November 8, 2011 – The Kleinert Kutz Hand Care Center of Kentucky with 12 physicians and five offices has selected the ChartLogic EHR Suite. The orthopedic medical group and surgical center is one of the largest hand surgery programs in the world, handling more than 65,000 patient visits per year with offices in Lexington and Louisville, KY and New Albany, IN. The Christine M. Kleinert Institute, operated by the center, is the world’s largest hand surgery fellowship program and has trained more than 1,600 physicians from 58 countries in advanced microsurgical techniques.

Kleinert Kutz administrators and physicians spent over a year interviewing five different EHR vendors before settling on ChartLogic.  “We needed an EHR that would adapt to us, instead of us having to adapt to it,” said Bob Mackin, CEO, Kleinert Kutz Hand Center.  “We view ChartLogic as a partner in our business.  We needed to put practices in place to reduce our learning curve, and ChartLogic’s intuitive orthopedic interfaces allowed our physicians, fellows, nursing staff and research teams, to continue to run their practices the way they felt most comfortable and with limited interruption to their workflow.”

ChartLogic, a leading provider of electronic health record (EHR) solutions to surgical specialists serves more than 1,000 physicians nationwide. The hand care center purchased the ChartLogic EHR Suite including the ChartLogic EMR (electronic medical record), ChartLogic Document Management, ChartLogic ePrescribe, ChartLogic Patient Portal and ChartLogic Practice Management.

“We are thrilled to be working with such a prestigious organization as Kleinert Kutz.  We are confident the ChartLogic EHR Suite will be a key asset to the clinic as we move into an era of greater reporting, accountability and technological necessity,” said Brad Melis, founder and executive vice president, ChartLogic
