New Mexico’s Presbyterian Healthcare Services Selects Health Care DataWorks for a Clinical Data Repository Solution

Health Care DataWorks (HCD) is pleased to announce a multi-year agreement with Presbyterian Healthcare Services (PHS), New Mexico’s largest provider of care.  HCD will be providing PHS a Clinical Data Repository using our Enterprise Data Warehouse Appliance.  This market-leading technology will provide PHS the actionable knowledge healthcare organizations are looking for today.

Health Care DataWorks, Inc. (HCD) has entered into a multi-year agreement with Presbyterian Healthcare Services (PHS) to provide a Clinical Data Repository (CDR) using HCD’s Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) Appliance.  The goal of this project is to collect timely and accurate cost and quality data and make it available to PHS’ users for informed decision making.  By taking these steps, PHS will have the ability to measure the performance of organizational cost and quality efforts.  The agreement marks the latest partnership in which a leading healthcare organization has turned to Health Care DataWorks for their market-leading technology.

Implementation of the CDR utilizing HCD’s Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) Appliance will begin immediately.  Health Care DataWorks’ EDW/CDR includes a robust healthcare enterprise data model, hundreds of standard reports and a number of pre-built dashboards and scorecards.  The appliance will provide Presbyterian Healthcare Services with an integrated, consolidated view of their clinical, financial, operational, and research data.

“As New Mexico’s largest provider of care and only not-for-profit healthcare system, our purpose is to improve the health of the patients, members and communities we serve,” explains Presbyterian Healthcare Services’ SVP for Quality and Chief Nursing Officer, Kathy Davis, RN.  “We believe implementing Health Care DataWorks’ multi-faceted, Quality Performance dashboard is an important step in helping us meet our quality goals, as well as become more affordable. With HCD, we gain the ability to drill down to detailed information that allows us to identify areas for improvement and make informed decisions about care for each patient and achieve quality outcomes.”

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is New Mexico’s only private, not-for-profit health care system. PHS serves more than 700,000 New Mexicans, which makes them the largest provider of health care in the state.  In addition, PHS operates 8 hospitals statewide while Presbyterians’ clinics handle more than 1.2 million patient visits annually.

“At Health Care DataWorks we understand that healthcare organizations like Presbyterian need actionable knowledge in order to make decisions that enable higher quality results at lower costs,” said Detlev H. (Herb) Smaltz, Health Care DataWorks CEO.  “Because our EDW/CDR solution includes all the hardware, software and services required, PHS will see an impact quickly, saving them both time and money.    It’s this ‘speed to value’ proposition that resonates with organizations like PHS that want to leapfrog past spending years building an EDW/CDR.”
