Mosaica Partners’ Laura Kolkman Elected Central Florida Board Member at Large for Central & North Florida HIMSS Chapter

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – (July 14, 2011) – Laura Kolkman, founder and president of Mosaica Partners, a nationally recognized health information exchange (HIE) consulting firm, has been elected Central Florida Board Member at Large for the Central & North Florida Chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (CNFHIMSS).

“It is an honor to be elected to this position,” said Kolkman, RN, MS, BSN, FHIMSS. “HIMSS is an organization dedicated to promoting the exchange of experience and knowledge amongst members and I look forward to contributing to the efforts of my Florida chapter.”

CNFHIMSS (www.cfhimss.org) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting a better understanding of healthcare information and management systems across 60 Florida counties. Its members are responsible for developing many of today’s key innovations in healthcare delivery and administration, including telemedicine, computer-based patient records, community health information networks and portable/wireless healthcare computing.

The national organization has more than 35,000 individual, 520 corporate and 120 not-for-profit organization members, making HIMSS (www.himss.org) the largest U.S. cause-based not-for-profit healthcare association focused on the optimal use of IT and management systems for the betterment of healthcare.

Most recently, Kolkman co-authored The Health Information Exchange Formation Guide – The authoritative guide for planning and forming an HIE in your state, region or community. Considered the definitive guide to HIE formation, it was published by HIMSS in early 2011. Kolkman was recently selected as a Fellow of HIMSS on the National level.
