Health Care DataWorks’ Enterprise Data Warehouse Appliance has received the federal government’s meaningful use stamp of approval.  The criteria we received certification in are listed below with the rest of the details.
We are pleased to be one of the first data warehouse providers to receive MU certification and we are confident it will help the healthcare organizations who use our solutions obtain their own meaningful use certification and in turn assist them in qualifying for incentive funding.
(Columbus, OH) Health Care DataWorks (HCD) announces its Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) Appliance version 3.2 has received the federal government’s “meaningful use” stamp of approval by earning EHR Modular certification to calculate and submit clinical quality measures for both inpatient practice and ambulatory practice types.  The official designation has been posted on the ONC Certified HIT Product List website. HCD is one of the first data warehouse providers to receive certification to calculate and submit clinical quality measures.

“Health Care DataWorks is proud to be one of the first EDW providers to earn Stage 1 certification to calculate and submit clinical quality measures,” said Herb Smaltz, CEO.  “This certification means healthcare organizations can now leverage our solution to help them achieve meaningful use and qualify for vital incentive dollars. Working with HCD can be especially beneficial for organizations that have multiple EHRs and whose constellation of EHR modules do not currently meet MU certification or for organizations that are unable for various reasons to upgrade to the latest MU certified EHR modules. Working with HCD simplifies the reporting process for such organizations.  In addition, these hospitals could use the EDW Appliance to calculate and submit clinical quality measures on their behalf which gets them a long way toward total compliance.”

The EDW Appliance is 2011/2012 compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services and has been certified for the following meaningful use criteria:

•170.302(o) Access Control

•170.302(p) Emergency Access

•170.302(q) Automatic Log-Off

•170.302(r) Audit Log

•170.302(s) Integrity

•170.302(v) Encryption when Exchanging Electronic Health Information

•170.306(i) Calculate and Submit Clinical Quality Measures (Inpatient)

In turn, healthcare providers using the EHR systems of certified vendors are qualified to receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology — a key component of the federal government’s push to improve clinical care delivery through the adoption and effective use of EHRs by U.S. healthcare providers.
