Hughes Telematics Announces Keith Schneider to Expand Role and Become President of its Lifecomm Subsidiary

Schneider to continue as Chief Executive Officer of Networkfleet and add Lifecomm responsibilities

ATLANTA, May 18, 2011 – Hughes Telematics, Inc. (“HTI”), (OTCBB: HUTC and HUTCW), a leader in providing next generation connected solutions, today announced the appointment of Keith Schneider as president of Lifecomm LLC, a majority owned subsidiary founded with QUALCOMM Incorporated (“Qualcomm”) and American Medical Alert Corp (“AMAC”).  Lifecomm is an innovative mobile health and wellness solutions company, which will offer a portfolio of products and services including Mobile Personal Emergency Response services through a simple-to-use and stylish wearable device. Schneider will also continue on as chief executive officer of Networkfleet, HTI’s fleet management services subsidiary.

“During his four years at Networkfleet, Keith has been instrumental in leading the organization through a successful growth phase and helping to make Networkfleet an industry leader in fleet telematics,” said Jeffrey Leddy, chief executive officer, HTI.  “In his new role at Lifecomm, Keith will lead the company as it launches its groundbreaking solution to enhance the active lifestyles of today’s seniors by providing access to emergency service through the touch of a button.”

Schneider joined Networkfleet in April 2007 as president. Under Schneider’s leadership, the company has invested in and built the infrastructure needed to scale the business and grow rapidly, while developing a top-notch management team and refining the company’s distribution strategy.

“Keith is an experienced leader who has been able to build a skilled team at Networkfleet.  Leveraging his skills and experience, we expect that Keith will also successfully lead the Lifecomm team and execute a distribution strategy for the company, much like he did for Networkfleet,” added Leddy.

In connection with the announcement, Schneider said, “I am excited by the opportunity to help direct the development, operational launch and distribution of the Lifecomm product.  And with the strong management team now in place at Networkfleet, I believe Networkfleet is well positioned for robust and sustainable growth given our strong product offering and competitive advantages.”

Prior to Networkfleet, Schneider served as vice president of indirect distribution for Sprint Nextel Communications, where he was responsible for the strategic direction and implementation of key programs and policies supporting Nextel’s local and national third party indirect channels. Schneider began his Nextel career as a general manager in Southern California, launching and building one of Nextel’s first and largest markets.

Schneider is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton, with a bachelor of science in international marketing and holds a masters of arts in management from John F. Kennedy University.  He also participated in the Strategy Business Leadership Certificate program at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business.
