Henry Ford Health System Embarks on Enterprise-wide, State-of-the-Art EHR Go-Live

Detroit, Michigan – March 17, 2011 – Henry Ford Health System, a Detroit-based national leader in healthcare, embarks on their IDN-wide Go-Live and deployment of their new enterprise electronic health record (EHR), named Care Plus Next Generation (CPNG).
The commercial owner of the software is Reliance Software Systems, Inc. (RelWare) of Farmington Hills, Michigan.  RelWare’s saleable offering, known as EXR, has been ONC-ATCB certified as Complete Inpatient EHR and Ambulatory Module EHR.  The extensive functionality of EXR is offered by RelWare in scalable configurations for all hospitals, health systems, clinics, large practices and health information exchanges.

“This represents a significant milestone in the history of our health system and an achievement of which we are all very proud,” states Henry Ford President and Chief Operating Officer, Robert G. Riney. “CarePlus Next Generation is the foundation upon which we continue to build great value to our organization, our providers and our patients.  RelWare has been a strong, reliable partner throughout this endeavor and CPNG will change the way Henry Ford delivers care.”

Alicia Brown, President and Chief Executive Officer of Reliance Software Systems, Inc. notes: “RelWare is very proud to be partners in this milestone achievement with Henry Ford Health System in both the readiness of the software and their enormously successful Go-Live.  We continue to get outstanding response from physicians and clinicians on the ease of use and workflow of our EHR.  Because our state-of-the-art, web-based patient record is at the beginning of its product lifecycle and the latest in web technologies, Henry Ford and all our clients will demonstrate ease of growth well into the 21st century.”

At Henry Ford, CPNG is being deployed to over 12,000 users and 1,200+ physicians in 6 hospitals and over 120 clinics.  It interfaces with over 150 systems to build upon Henry Ford’s existing lifetime clinical data repository started almost 20 years ago.  RelWare’s immediate focus is to provide EXR in-house and in SaaS / Cloud configurations, particularly to Critical Access and small hospitals.  “It scales up, it scales down—smaller hospitals need their Meaningful Use reimbursements, and we intend to deliver that,” says Ms. Brown.
